Refund Policy

General Requirement

  1. DLC provides each prospective student’s enrollment/application documents in English that include its cancellation and refund policy.DLC policy assures that the application/enrollment documents are either translated and provided in hard copy or orally translated into a language that the student understands. Each prospective DLC student must verify and attest that he or she understands the content of the refund and cancellation policy.
  2. Any DLC student who wishes to withdraw from a class must provide written notification to the DLC, as a condition for receiving a refund.

Refund Due Dates:

  1. If an applicant cancels the contract prior to the class start date, all refunds due will be made within forty-five (45) calendar days of the date of cancellation.
  2. For an enrolled student, all refunds will be made within forty-five (45) calendar days from the documented date of determination. The date of determination is the date the student gives written notice of withdrawal to the DLC or the date the DLC terminates the student due to the student’s failure to adhere to the DLC’s attendance, conduct, or student progress policy.

Cancellations

  1. If DLC rejects an applicant, a full refund of all monies paid, less non-refundable charges, will be made.
  2. Program Cancellation: If DLC cancels a program subsequent to a student’s enrollment, the DLC will refund all monies paid by the student.
  3. Cancellation Prior to the Start of Class or No Show: If an applicant cancels prior to the start of scheduled classes or never attends class (no show), DLC will refund all tuition paid. DLC may retain a maximum total of $500 identified non-refundable charges as long as such charges are clearly noted in the enrollment agreement as being non-refundable.

Withdrawal or Dismissal After Start of Class:

  1. DLC is not obligated to make refunds to students who are dismissed due to violation of the DLC’s written disciplinary and/or attendance policies or local, state, or federal law.
  2. For any term that is four weeks long or shorter: DLC may retain all the tuition charges for the term.
  3. For terms/sessions greater than four weeks:

1) First Term: for a student who withdraws at any point in the first three weeks, DLC will charge the non-discounted tuition for the first three weeks and will then refund the balance of the tuition for the term/session. There is no refund of tuition after the third week of a student’s registered term/session.

2) Subsequent Terms/Sessions: for a student who withdraws before the end of the third week of any subsequent term/session, DLC will charge the student a prorated amount of the non-discounted tuition. Prorated refunds will be calculated on a weekly basis. When determining the number of weeks, DLC will consider a partial week the same as if a whole week were completed, provided the student was present at least one day during the week. There is no refund of tuition after the third week of class.
